SPOILER ALERT…if you haven’t read Shatter Me yet – stop reading now!  Go get a copy, read it, and then come back!  Courtesy of Around the World ARC Tours, I was lucky enough to read this one before it comes out in February 2013.  A fan of Shatter Me, I could not wait to get the sequel and continue reading Juliette’s story.

tick, tick, tick, tick, tick

it’s almost

time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She’s finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam’s life.

This book DEFINITELY had it all – suspense, serious romance, violence, and those moments where you want to reach in and slap the character upside the head and say, “What the heck are you thinking?”  There were a lot of those involving Juliette!  Unravel Me starts off right where book one left us, with Juliette and Adam at Omega Point, the rebel resistance base (sounded a little Star Wars-ish right there).  And there is some serious stuff going on with Adam – as in testing…as in, how and why can he touch Juliette?  And Juliette has still not revealed that the evil Warner can also touch her.  Speaking of Warner (shudder), he is back and leads to many of those moments where I want to slap Juliette.  That’s enough of a hint right there.  Castle reveals that the Reestablishment is getting active – lots of patrols, tanks, soldiers, and even Warner himself is out there – of course Juliette knows he’s looking for her.  After some rebels are kidnapped, a confrontation is inevitable – and what happens out in Sector 45 is shocking.  Secrets come back to haunt Juliette, a prisoner causes much trouble for Omega Point, and there are so many shocking twists and turns it was making my head spin.  And the ending?  Whoa.  That’s it – I can’t say any more except I definitely will be waiting for book three.  February 2013 – it’s worth the wait, you definitely will want to pick up a copy of this one.  And it gives you time to read Shatter Me if you haven’t yet!

And for all of you fans who can’t wait for February, Tahereh Mafi is actually releasing a novella called Destroy Me on October 16th – it’s told from Warner’s point of view immediately after he’s shot at the end of Shatter Me!
